To a 14 or 17 cal shooter, the .257's seem pretty large caliber.
To the 50 BMG shooter, anything less than the 40+ calibers seem little
more than pea-shooters.

Some writers have included the .243 to 30 calibers as Mid-size bores.
Seems like in many forums, however, the .257's to .270's are pretty
much left out with the exceptions of general rifle and reloading forums.

Since there needs to be a limit somewhere, this forum, at least for now,
will include the 6.5mm down to..................well, some out there are
attempting 10 cal and possibly smaller. Can almost see it now, the new
varmint hunters will be after bumble bees and dragon flies!  :)

Hey DannoBoone, I may have asked you this before, where is Walker, IA?  I'm new to the state of Iowa having been deported from South Dakota, job issues and wife.  I live in Hampton up near Mason City, are we a long ways from one another?

Selmer - If you're the one who asked in a string on another forum what the
rest of us did for a living, yes.  I'm the one who claimed to rob trains and
stage coaches for a living.  :)  Walker is roughly half way between
Waterloo and Cedar Rapids, which is a ways from Mason City. Miss the
great pheasant hunting?

Yep, I'm the same guy as over on AR.  We're a ways away from one another, I checked it out on a map today.  I miss the pheasant hunting, but I got back for three hunts this fall, I combined them as duck hunts and we limited on both ducks and pheasants, plus I got to call some yotes.  That was as much time as I would have had as a first-year teacher this fall anyway, I'm still close enough that I can leave after school and be at my parent's by 11 pm and get a good night's sleep.

Watch it there Danno. I know of two deer killed with one of my 10 grain 14 bullets.....neck and head shots, but they went down like a sledgehammer hit them. I'm getting some 12 jacketed dies soon (.123)!

Didn't I send you some 20 bullets? Don't think I ever heard how they shot from you.....must not have worked well...

DannoBoone,

What you're saying is with the absents of a Medium Bore forum that Big Bore will start at .277 and go up to "OH Mamma" caliber.  And that Small Bore is .264 down to "fruit fly killer specials" caliber.  Just wanted to know where to post what caliber is all.  Lawdog
