New Encore on the way.
« on: January 26, 2009, 08:47:07 AM »
Hi guy's,
Never posted here but have been interested in an Encore for a while. figured this was the place to be. I have had to quit shooting my bigger rifles due to an accident.  Messed up a bunch of vertebrae in my neck. Hunted with a M70 223 WSSM with 65 grain Sierras this past season. It will kill deer just fine. Have a Ruger 223, and will building a 224 TTH soon but, ordered a new 22-250 stainless Encore Saturday.

Have loaded since late 70's and have built quite a few bolt guns with an addition to wildcats. The Encore looks to be a great way to use different kinds of chamberings using 224 through 243 dia bullets. Oh yeah the next barrel may be a 250 Savage or 250 AI Got to stay with the lighter kickers now.

Any inherent problems with an Encore and the vast amount of chamberings. I did have Contender's once in 7-30 and 44 mag in hand gun configuration years ago.

Thanks,

Mike

Yes, there is a BIG problem you must not have heard about.  It's called Encore addiction and is manifested by compulsive feelings to buy more barrels and accessories even when your gun safe is full.

Welcome, by the way.

I'm already having problems with this flu. Checking different barrels and scope combos for future fun. Got hit by the ice storm after I posted this. 4 or 5 day later power.

Any place to pick up used barrels. Interested in the older style calibers. Am looking forward to some rimmed wildcats.
