Contender sights
« on: January 12, 2009, 09:34:05 AM »
I looked through the FAQs but have a question.
I am new to the Condender world. I have a pistol made in '86 basefd on Sn, came with a 14" 44 mag bbl. I just got a 12"7-30 Waters bbl and it has a fron sight but not a rear. I willl most likely scope it at some point but I was wondering where the best place to get sights is?

You can find some on the contender classified adds right now.

Do you know what height size you need for this barrel?  I recall there being a 'sticky' somewhere showing the various length barrels and the correct sight heights.  Can't seem to find it now though, figures.

In case he doesn't, 7-30 Waters takes a "High" (0.270" blade measurement) rear sight according to the list I have.

I, too, would like to know where to purchase a medium rear sight. I found some on Gunbroker but they don't list a size on most of them.

When it comes to parts for Thompson Center products the best source is Thompson Center.
