Sometimes it best to not ask why when it works.  If it works it works.

Blue plastics???

I went out and bought an assortment of colors in senko type baits as soon as i seen how good they work.  So far the Blue flake and the RED flake  ones seem to be the hottest with the blue getting the edge right now anyway.  But i have had hits on white pearl flake ones too.     BigBill

I won't say how much $$  I have in plastics right now but I have more stuff than a mom and pop bait shop.  And I can't wait to try new stuff just to see if it works where I'm fishing.  Funny everyone says watermelon but i never caught anything on this color yet?  I have taken notes on everything I read on what colors to use for what season.  Like anything else you can research but time on the water and having experience pays off more tips and research gives new guys a starting point.  Its just like trying a new bait we just have to learn on our own how to use it thats the key to success as long as we stay focused and motivated and never give up!!!!!!  Now if I can just find that package of blue lizzards!!

Blue??!! I've thrown blue plastics in any number of configurations to no avail. Watermelon seed, motor oil, chartreuse and an occasional red shad. They've all served me well.............BLUE??!!

Blue on the color spectrum, when bend in water, turns brown. Each clarity level effects this light bend. Maybe that will answer the blue thing - purple is another color that bends in water.
