I had so many hits and misses yesterday I changed my splitshot rig to a small weighted carolina rig this morning and nailed a 4.9 Lber at 5:30am awesome fight. I figured they were feeling the weight of the splitshot. I seen her rise and made a long cast past her and she ate my BassProShops 5 3/8" amber red/flake "Stick o Worm". This fish never broke the surface or jumped the whole fight. All I heard was my drag going it never stopped. I thought it was a big catfish till the last minute it was a big bass. I rushed her home(in a bucket) took a pic stopped at a local deli weighed her in at 4.91lbs and put her back to spawn next year and make little bass so we/future great grand kids/others will have a future in bass fishing. She isn't the biggest one I seen there but its a good start. I have had one there chase my spinnerbait twice her size. Thats the one I want the HOG!!!!! The QUEEN of the pond!!!! The big Mrs K-tuna!!!!! Maybe tomorrow??? I have until the ice is on left yet. This is a strange place to fish this year nobody else is there because nothing is biting because their using the wrong bait!!!! BigBill
There is nothing like the excitement of having a hog on the line!!!!!!! It comes real close to shooting a blackbear though.
