Have you called Beretta?  Believe it or not they have a lot of spare parts available for the older Sakos in case someone sends one in for repair. Tech guy told me this a few months ago

I`m a sucker for cheap, so if it is real cheap I would grab it and worry about the rest later. You did not say what the cal. was or what you would be useing it for, but there is always the oppition of floor plating it and shooting single shot. I`ve never own a Sako, but that`s only because I`ve never found one cheap, they are great guns.
