new to the club
« on: February 09, 2009, 01:07:46 PM »
Well I have been lurking around the H&R forums and on their website for a few years now.  I was at a gunshow yesterday and after wondering through all the tables, stopped at one that had a very good looking single shot 12 gauge.  It was used and had a lot of character, a good looking straight grip stock, and nifty case coloring on the receiver.  I got it for 100 bucks.  Before I made it out of there 5 vendors tried to buy it from me, so that made me feel pretty good about the whole deal.  And since I had so much money left over, I had to buy a tomahawk.

Anyway... can't wait to shoot it, probably start out slow with some 2 3/4" shells

  ...with a straight stock???

      Sounds very interesting. Congratulations!

I copied and pasted the links to see them but they are nice pictures and I really like that stock. I'm thinking of getting a a new one for my Deluxe model that I have. Kind of remind me of one of those nice English guns.

That looks like a nice hawk as well. I have one with a cast head I used for throwing. It looks like it has the same facits that yours does. When I got mine it had some kind of black/gray looking paint on it that I took off.

Thanks guys.  Rustyinfla this hawk is for throwing too, in retrospect I should of waited and got a hawk from Cold Steel though.  But, its all good in the hood.  Thanks for the heads up Cookie, hopefully thats a good year.  I will let you know how it patterns....

Thanks for posting a pic of that good lookin' old topper. I really like the look of the straight stock. If you want a great hawk at a good price I love the hawks I have gotten from HBforge.
