Great job, I have only been able to get out twice. I took a long shot and went right under the deer at 55 yards. It was getting dark and I wanted to get a shot in. I shoud of just passed it up.  When I shot the deer was eating something on the ground and when I shot it looked up real quick which made the body go up to just out of the arrow's path. It would of been a kill zone shot if the deer would not have lifted up to the sound of the bow. I am going out again tonight.:)

Thats quite a bit farther shot than I will take with a bow.  I limit myself to 20yds and under.

markc, I am comfortable out to 40 yards. It looked closer than it was (Big Deer low light) . I used my range finder after I shot because I did not have time before the shot, that is when I saw it was 55 yards. I should have used the range finder before I shot. I am very accurate and consistent at 40 yards. But the top off of the night is, I got a 135 LB doe tonight. Shot was at 25 yards. The doe ran off about 50 yards and fell over. I could see her down so I sat 30 minutes to make sure she did not get up. :) I was sitting on a downed tree and 4 does walked up behind me within 10 yards, I could not shoot due to the trees and branches. I watched them feed for about 30 minutes and slowly walk into a clearing and then took my shot. Found my arrow, it passed right through and was about 20 yards past where I shot.  Used a Matthews Legacy bow Easton 2216 and Muzzy 125 gr. broadheads. :) Now I need to see some Bucks....

Sounds like a good hunt.  Unfortunately in the county my lease is in, I tagged out the second day of the season when I took a big bodied cull buck.  Couldn't pass up a  15 yd shot.  SO I have one buck and one doe, and will try for doe  #2 Saturday morning.  Good luck getting your buck.
