Yet another Deer gun season shot

Looks like I'll miss yet another deer gun season , for the life of me I'll never understand why companies wait till the very end of the year to spend their budget money .

The company I have been doing work for now has to spend 20 mil before Jan 1 or loose that much from next years budget .

Long story - short = tons of OT for me and no days off  :'( /  ;D

May be able to get a couple days for ML season , MAYBE , hell , I may just have to buy deer meat  :D

Seems to be a national problem, you'd think if they had not spent it yet , they might not need it    ::)  so the budget should be cut!

But being the Americans that they are they see no need to save anything!

Bottom line though, you get more money for "things" but no time to hunt!

My season has been curtailed  to tend to my Mom's Estate, I'm hating life right now! Not hunting and doing painful, thank less stuff for ungrateful family!

I've been arguing with my boss for years about going hunting.
It used to be our busy season and he said when I was hired it was no problem. Well every year I'd get crap from management for going, but I went anyway.

I may have missed some overtime over the years but it could never make up for missing my annual deer trip.

One day I won't be able to hunt and I'll regret every time I didn't go. To me it's more important than money.

Sorry to hear that Stimpy. This is a classic case of a bad thing happening to an excellent person. Well, at least you'll be making some good money with the OT.

Got 4 more guys yesterday , total of 22 now , feel more like a Babysitter some days than a Gen Forman , but ya the money is real good right now and I am just glad to have a job . Too many don't !  :( :(

Sorry to hear about that Stimpy.  My brother is in the same boat only not for OT.  He may not be able to get out at all this year either.  To add insult to injury, he ended up having to take a four dollar an hour pay cut just to be able to hang on to his job.  He is saying the same thing as you, happy to just have a job when so many don't.  To top things off he has had so many health problems of late that he is not too sure how much longer he will be able to physically do it. Needs a hip replaced and he can't walk without using a walker or cane at this point. :-[  Good luck and I hope that you somehow can get a chance to get out.

Stimpy, do what I do. Havn't had a chance to deer hunt with a gun in years. I figure that every Sunday night, when I'm driving home from a show somewhere here in Ohio, I'm deer hunting with the front of my van, and take one home without too much damage. gypsyman(see ya next show if your work ot lets you!)

Stimpy, no fear! With our president by the time next year rolls around every plant in the country will be so slow that they will have laid off 90% of their empolies and the other 10% will be down to a 20 hr. week! You will have pleanty of time to hunt.  ;)

I know its busy stimpy..  Refinery is still trying to get up and running.  Then alittle explosion, fires and just plain idiots.  Had 20 guys down to 12.  Still working 7/10s or 12 or when ever.  3 of us are heading to southern ohio sunday for gun season.  Just got to get out.    Had 2 bucks in the back yard at 3:30pm and 2 more at 5:30pm.   Doesnt matter....   Feel like a mushroom.  Go to work in the dark and get home in the dark.
