This is going to be an intereasting thread and I cant wait to see more replies.  I have made a few racks out of pine that will hold about 10 each.  It is basically a rectangle formed from 1 X 2 pine.  On the one long side I notched out a space that the lug sits in (keeps the barrels from rolling around on their side).  On the opposite long end I cut some shallow circles that the round end of the barrel sits in.  I then covered both the notched portions and the round portions with a felt that was applied with contact cement.  All my barrels are scoped so I separated them just enough so the scopes do not touch each other.  I have a lot of room above these racks to the next shelf and have thought about piggybacking them but have not done that so far.  I have some extra barrels that dont have a dedicated space in the rack and right now I am just placing them wherever I can till I come up with another idea.  Carbine barrels are an even bigger  problem so I am looking forward to someone giving me an idea how to store them.  I am thinking about setting something up on the inside of the door to hang the carbine barrels, but I have not gome up with anything firm yet.

There have been some interesting threads previously on barrel storage.  Here is one, http://www.gboreloaded.com/forums/index.php/topic,158828.0.html
I have most of mine on a sheet of pegboard secured to the inside face of the safe door.  As long as you consider the placement of the shelves, you can use the area between for storage.

They make Bore-stores for just the TC barrel.  (I bought one by mistake when I tried to order a Bore-store for my whole Contender).

If you're talking about pistol barrels; buy a cheap case (rifle or large pistol case).  Make sure the case is deep enough to store two layers of guns.  Go to the fabric store and buy some new foam layers and cut them to fit the shape of each barrel or each barrel with their scopes.  This way you can stack two layers of scopes and lay them opposite each other on each layer.  Depending upon how long or deep of a case you buy, you should be able to store quite a few barrels this way.  Plus, you can always wrap them in a Bore Store while they're in the case....and of course, this makes them ready to take into the field or to the range.  If you plan on taking them to the field of range in this case, you may want to invest in a nice case such as an SKB or a Pelican case.

I don't know if it's right or wrong but that's how I've stored mine for quite some time.

With carbine barrels, I just line them up along the inside of the safe and maybe Bore Store them in case they fall or bang into each other.

I lay mine on shelves...stacked like cordwood...too many to separate into cozy cloth caddies.
