Customer Service Lying about availability of barrels?
« on: February 06, 2009, 10:33:49 AM »
Called customer service today from my cell phone.  As some of you know they have had my receiver now for 5 months.  Talked to a guy by the name of  Ed.  Since I did not have my repair number handy I made out like I wanted to check the availability of a 44M barrel before sending my receiver in.  I asked Ed if they are available and the exact words out of his mouth were "all you want".  Now I am exited, it's about time.  I get home and call again and talk to Ron this time.  Did not tell Ron about the first call, just gave him my repair number.  After a couple minutes of poking around in his computer Ron said "still waiting on that 44 mag barrel".  Now I am pissed.  I asked to talked to a supervisor.  Ron said I could do that but he would tell me the same thing.  Then I explained to him what Ed had told me and he said he did not know why he would say that.  After another minute or so of conversation I got cut off.  How convenient.  Of course they knew I would not spend another 15 to 20 minutes trying to call back.

Did Ed lie to me?  Or, did he just not care enough to actually check?

I know some of you have had good luck with these people but they are the worst I have ever seen.

I think part of the problem is Customer Service is in Madison NC and the actual plant is in Ilion NY, apparently the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.  :-\ I'll see what I can find out.

I get testy when the different fingers on the   s a m e   hand don't know what goes on.

I went back to Savage for my firearms and just got my first Accu Trigger Model. Whatever the setting is that they shipped, it is just right for me..

The only thing that I find a bit weird is that new squishy recoil pad. :-\

Anything is possible but I don't think so.  I clearly said 44 mag barrel.

I called a week or so ago about a 45-70 barrel and was told AT LEAST a 6 week wait.
