Bullets and powder
« on: February 07, 2009, 05:59:53 PM »
I live in Arizona. Went to the local big box gun place here and got a shock. The bullets shelves were decimated along with the powder stocks.I left feeling a little anxious to say the least.  went to the other big box gun store and died of shock. Seems the bullets have doubled in price since the last time I bought which was about ten years ago. Thank God I laid in a huge supply then and was only looking to supplement a few shortages. think I am going to dust of the Lyman pot and start casting lead bullets for the rifles again Anybody across the country noticing the same trends?

I had to get a bank loan and two co-signers to buy a 1000 rounds of .223.  Ammo is out of sight, I'm busting out the re-loading equipment and will start baking my own. ??? ??? ???

Have all the molds I need just need to start casting again.Have about 1500 pounds of ingots and wheelweights about. Havnt used jacketed bullets in my handguns for twenty years.Use some jacketed in my rifles, but thinking I might start with cast bullets again and save my jacketed for serious huntin.
