I will not be going this yr . I was in a truck accident on the 14th where I rolled my truck . I had been working a ton on overtime the last 6 wks and was to work on sat when I got a call friday night saying I was not going to be needed on sat so with a new drop of snow and nothing else to do I decided to try calling some yotes got to my area about 3:30am perfect wind perfect set up was able to call in 2 on the first set got one. Anyway I spent most of the morn and part of the afternoon walking and calling finally giving up about 2pm. On the way back to truck I decided to cut a half a load of wood for home, the week before I had broke a mount on the front of the leaf spring but jacked it up and put a block between the shackle and the box had to order part from dealership but the truck drove fine and seemed to be ok the last 10 days waiting for the part . I figured half load would be ok . coming out of the woods I stopped at my buddies garage and we drank a couple (2) beers a chated then headed for home . Drove thru the town I grew up in and saw my brothers truck at the bar so I stopped. I had not seen him in about a month and thought I'd just say hey . We drank a couple of beers (2) told him I had to go as I was sure my wife even though we had not dicussed dinner I figured with me not working as planned that she would probly cook some thing special for dinner and headed for home it's now 5;30 pm. The last thing I remember was turning onto the highway about 10 miles from home then waking up in the hospital.Some things are still kind of coming back into my mind as to what happened. I seem to remember somewhat flipping over and landing and thinking someone had run into me. Then blank again kind of remember being put into the ambulance and some one carrying a gun case and seeing the topper from truck and fire wood struen in the road . I am now going to be ok but am going to be off work for another week or so and thank god no one else was involved or hurt by my stupidity. Nearest I can figure out is that the other shackle probly broke allowing the rear axel to cock or tear the rear end loose from the drive shaft causing the flip not sure how fast I was going but probly near 45-50.Only by the grace of god will I now be able to go thru with the rest of the ordeal that my stupidity has given me . I was charged with felony DUI which is a little trick some law officers use to make sure you spend time in jail in the state of xBlago. My BAC was over .08 he could not find my Ins. card even though I told him where it was an I had a prior DUI 19yrs ago.Being how it was a sat night and a presidents day holiday I would not be able to see a judge til tuesday afternoon for bail hearing. Still no one to blam but myself but it just ain't right to do it the way he did and there is nothing to do about it and no one to blam but myself. So I sat in jail all busted up massive pain and they would not give me my pain medication . I got lucky with a very severly bruised tail bone and very sore hips left shoulder probly slight torn rotator cuff or bone spurs from last 2 surgeries and badly brusied ribs could of been much worse. Anyway now I've had to give my lawyer 2 grand to start will have to replace my truck ,have missed some work will have to have someone drive me back and forth to work for 30days will have to pay to have a Blow and drive ignition machine on my vehicle for 6 months probly gonna cost upwards of 10 grand not including how much my insurance goes up thats if they don't drop me. Still no one to blam but myself. I have gotten all 3 guns back and all seem to be ok haven't shot yet though, my chain saw underwater video camera ice auger and even the Stieners not sure what happened to coyote though. Just food for thought even though 4 beers is not that much and it don't really have to be your fault or what most of us would consider drunk or fault . It is going to cost me a ton of money and the most enjoyable hunting trip of the yr. Cost of not being stupid=PRICELESS. Also there is no $ amount on what I have put my family thru. Kurt
