Ruger Hawkeye 204
« on: February 12, 2009, 03:08:44 PM »
I just picked up my first 204 yesterday. Its a Ruger Hawkeye Matte Stainless/Synthetic in 204 Ruger;topped with a Bushnell Elite 3200  4-12power. Can't wait to get out and do some shootin.Picked it up from my Buddies son,who shot 2 boxes of shells thru it.4 shot groups in a Dime at 100 yds with 32 grn. hornady v-max's.Not sure if they all shoot that well? Couldn't pass that up! ;D Soon as the it stops snowing and blowing I have to get out and terrorize some Yoties I'm thinking.Only a couple wks left for the season. :'( If anyone else owns one I'd like to here any pros.cons you've experienced.

I`ve got a CZ that is a real tack driver with the 32 gr. Serria`s, but the Serria`s are no good for coyote. I hear some guys are getting by with the 32. Hornadys, their jacket is .005 thicker, but the Bullet of choice seem to be the 35 or heaver Bergers.

roscoe:  I've got the same with walnut/target gray and Simmons scope.  Love it.  Have only loaded the little V-Max so far, but have found that:  it shoots dime-size groups; you can see it hit through the scope, it's that fast; it shoots FLAT.  Yes, there's a lot that the .223 and 22-250 will do better, but then, who's a one-gun rifleman?
