Have you seen one ??

At my local gunshop they have a Ruger 44mag auto carbine. This one has a stock to the end of the barrel and is tube feed, of course the tube is hidden by the stock. Its a nice little rifle that by the looks of it is 30yrs old. The price tag is $700 but can be had for probably for 600 or 650. I'm curious if anybody has one or has some info on this rifle ?? It does have me think'n I may need a 44 carbine.   ;D   Dave

More like 40 years old, while I have never "seen" to have actually have handled one, I am looking at one right now. It is in issue #59, 1968 edition of Shooters Bible. Want Specs?
 .44 Mag International Carbine...........$128.00 (1968 price of course)
 Cal. .44 Mag only.
Barrel: 18 1/2" 12 groove (? that's what it says) rifling, 28" RH twist, permanently assembled
          to receiver by 20 pitch screw threads.
Weight: 5 3/4 lbs.
Overall Length: 37"
Sights: 1/16" round bead front, single folding rear
Takedown Length; 24"
Magazine: Fixed, tubular type, 4 shot capacity plus one round in
               chamber. Button release.
Trigger: Curvey finger surface 3/8" wide, two stage pull.
Recoil: Light comparable to 20 gauge shotgun (I like this one, one has to remember the horrrer stories that surrounded the mighty 44 Magnum and its vicsious/fearsome recoil in a revolver, apparently not so bad in a rifle platform)
Safety: sliding cross-bolt type. Locks sear and hammer.
Stock: Genuine American walnut. Hand (HAND?) rubbed finish
Finish: Polished all over and blued or anodized.
And all for the paultry sum of....$128.00, With the standard carbine @$108.00, the sporter carbine @ $118.00 and the Model 44RS, (w/ built-in reciever sight, and carbine style stock & swivels) @ $115.00.
While the other 3 are there I do not however see the International in the 1969 Edition of the Shooters Bible.  That's all I have, enjoy... CRASH87

Thanks crash, I like that little gun but don't think I can let go of the cash, wish it was still $128 !!!----but it is a interesting rifle.

I had a buddy with one. i shot it a few times. It was a good whitetail gun.

As long as you already have a mini14 I'd say go for it. I wanted one of the second model 44's but I believe they already dropped them. Good luck

the 44 international's are pretty rare,even more so than the sporter.if you collect 44 carbines i would say one of these to be a must have.$700 is not too much money if condition is good.but cheaper is better.i have a nice little collection of 44's only seen 2 other internationals besides the one i have.real nice little rifle.good luck,adker
