1871 Harrington and Richardson?
« on: August 26, 2003, 11:02:13 PM »
Cabela's has one for 429.00$ in 45-70, was wondering if any one has one or has handled one and what there thoughts were on this gun.

It is basicly a shotgun action with a rifle barrel.

Would this make a good starter rifle for single shots?

How well do you think it would hold up?

Thanks,

Will

seams a little high on the price, it is a good gun that you can change barrels on and yes it is like a shotgun but holds up very well.

It is a very good starter gun tho you will have to change the rear sight to a Buffington or tang style

Thanks guys, found a gun dealer who had one for a hundred cheaper, wasn't real impressed with qality.  Looks like an ok gun though.  It made up my mind to go ahead and get the 1885 high wall, and glad I did!
