I bought this used Daisy 853 for the kids to shoot. I have my son and daughter enrolled in a gun safety, shooting class at the gun club I belong to. They doing well shooting prone, standing, and sitting with Daisy BB guns at the class. I bought a IZH-46M a few years ago to shoot air silhouette and i purchase a set of air targets for the backyard. The 853 is rated at 510 ft/sec so it won't damage the air targets. The air targets are set at 10,12.5,15,18 yds.

The 853 is a great gun. I coached a junior program that used them and had few problems. They are very accurate.

Thanks for the input. I downloaded the owners manual and was reading about, "Lubrication" It states to use 10-,20-, or 30 weight automotive motor oils. Sure beats the $6 for .5 oz oil for the IZH-46M pistol.
