TC Classic for Hunter .22 rifle silhouette
« on: February 23, 2009, 08:08:08 AM »
Hi all,

I have been shooting .22 rifle silhouette since the early 1980s with my Anschutz 64 MS and Weaver T10 (El Paso).  I have wanted to try .22 rifle hunter silhouette for some time and was going to buy  a CZ 452 American.  In doing some research most of which is on this board it seems like the Anschutz 1712 is the end all way to go, but $$ of which I am not willing to pay at the present time.  I have another club I am in that requires a scoped accurate repeater of some sort so I thought that the CZ with my Bushnell 8X-32X 4200 Elite mounted on it would take care of both.  In my marksmanship club we usually only get 2 minutes for 10 shots which makes using a single shot hurried.

Before ordering the the CZ I kind became sidetracked with looking at the Savage MK II classic.  It is a nice piece for sure but I felt the CZ fit me a little better and I wasn't crazy over the blade within the trigger thing on the Savage although I haven't ruled it out.  I did like the fact it comes with Weaver mounts already installed. I also heard the clip wasn't the best on the Savage but have not had a chance to try it myself.

I now am wondering if anyone has tried the TC classic .22 semi auto for .22 rifle hunter silhouette and if the trigger could be modified any?

Thougts Please?

Thanks,

Bill T.

Stick with the CZ. That is the best rifle for the money. An extra $50.00 for any good gunsmith to rework the trigger to 2.0 lbs. of pull and no creep and you are in business.

I also have a TC classic and love it for hunting, but the stock and trigger do not lend themselves for the demanding sport of silhouette shooting.

Best of luck,
