LC, how does a Libertarian government accomplish responsibility of the masses? (copied from the link):
1. Criminal laws should be limited to violation of the rights of others through force or fraud, or deliberate actions that place others involuntarily at significant risk of harm. Individuals retain the right to voluntarily assume risk of harm to themselves. We support restitution of the victim to the fullest degree possible at the expense of the criminal or the negligent wrongdoer.
2.The only legitimate use of force is in defense of individual rights — life, liberty, and justly acquired property — against aggression. This right inheres in the individual, who may agree to be aided by any other individual or group. We affirm the right to keep and bear arms, and oppose the prosecution of individuals for exercising their rights of self-defense.
3. The protection of individual rights is the only proper purpose of government. Government is constitutionally limited so as to prevent the infringement of individual rights by the government itself.

I think in the Libertarian movement is the call for a going back to the origins of the republic that originated from the Revolutionary fathers and the constitution. It is strictly a constitutional government. In other words, "give me liberty". We have historically always been in a conflict between a Libertarian government and Merchantilism. Even though we fought a war against merchantilism, the merchantilist won, especially beginning with Lincoln. In merchantilism, the government is the center of control, not the people, not free markets. That is the "why" of the stimulus and the artificial monetary manipulation.

The sole purpose of government is to protect your liberty. The Constitution is not to restrict the people, but to restrict government.  Ron Paul

The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first. - Thomas Jefferson

Per Wikipedia:
Libertarianism is a term used by a spectrum[1] of political philosophies which seek to promote individual liberty[2] and seek to minimize or even abolish the state.[3][4][5][6][7][8][9] There is no single theory that can be reliably identified as the libertarian theory, and no single principle or set of principles on which all libertarians would agree."[10]

I was looking for a brief definition so I acknowledge that this one is extremely brief.  Again, my concern is that this form of government rests on the good intent of people.  People are fallen.  It's nice to talk about restitution but the view is too close to Anarchy for me.

Government is necessary.  Limited government is best.  Government presupposes rule which presupposes right and wrong.  This is the basis for the Rule of Law.  Our republic was based upon the rule of Law or Common Law of England (Blackstone).  The Common Law of England has much if not all of it's roots in Mosaic law (not 100% certain of this one but understand that a large degree of the common law originated there).

What do Libertarians hold up as the arbiter of Right and Wrong?  God?  Scripture?  Human reason?
If Human reason, we would be but a step above the stench that caused the French Revolution and it's Anarchy.
If God and Scripture I could possibly agree with their view.

This is why I prefer the Constitution Party.  They recognize that we are a nation created under God with the Mosaic form of government, Rebublican.  The basis for right and wrong is found in scripture and has and does work when followed as a guide.

And a little Mouse gets more attention than the American worker.
People are out here Losing everything they ever worked for  ,and some are to old to start over.
They are fighting off bill collectors while Michele Obama has to decide what glamorous gown to wear today.
Lawyers running around suing everything that moves.
