As I am beginning to work on my new forend on my Ultra Varmint project, I need a little advice.
I have read the FAQs and with the original stock, been very careful to float my barrel. I did not however realise that the back attachment piece on the forend was plastic. My plan was to float the barrel fore and aft of the stud, essentially maing the stud the only contact point. I now have concerns that there will be twist left and right with the little plastic piece being responsible for keeping the forend straight.
Anyone have any comments or thoughts? Should I bed the forend up to the stud or do you guys think the stock will remain straight?
