I think that there are/were 2 lengths
1) 20" SS with no brake
2) 18" blued including a brake
Any thoughts on what was more desirable and why?

Having an 18" braked version in 45-70 and a 20" 12ga turkey barrel version, I think the 20" lenght is preferable(at least to me). I'm quite fond of my little cannon, but if i could perform magic I would make the brake go away and the length extend to 20". I've always been tempted to whack off the brake and have a full bull 16.5" pistol barrel. Oh yea.....where is my saw...........
