corded drill suggestions needed

I just smoked the reverse out of an old hammer drill and it aint doing too good in fwd. i am rough on drills,lag bolts,lug nuts ,you name it. what 7 amp drill do you suggest i buy next.my old drill was drilling steel on a utility trailer so i would have a wood over wire sturdy floor using self tap 2 in screws and a little motor oil.got it done but it was tough without reverse!! black and decker 550 any good? dont use it often but when i do it needs to get r done..thanks and be safe.dj

The best drills I have used are HILTI but they are expensive. I have also had good service from MILLWALKEE, MAKITA, and HITACHI. I have found that for industrial applications, these, to me are the best. For home use and light commercial duty the rest will do. 
I am not a DEWALT or BOSH fan.

I use Milwaukee for corded drills. they have always served me well. I have smoked many bosch drills in my 25 years as a cabinetmaker and will not use them for anything.
