I used to dive, but moved north several years ago. I used to dive six days a week, have dived in every ocean except Indian and Arctic. Scuba diving is the absolute most beautiful experience anyone can ever have. Nothing compares to the majestic beauty of the underwater world. Anyone who loves animals and the natural world will do themselves a great favor to try scuba and dive several times.

When I was a kid, I liked to watch the Jacques Cousteau documentaries. They were beautifully filmed and very popular. But actually being in the water and seeing what is there is far, far more beautiful than any film or photo can be.

I also did some freshwater diving, including under the ice. The light and color under the ice is beautiful, like nothing else I have seen. Sort of like a natural beautiful cathedral.

Why did you ask about diving? Is there something you want to know?

Yep, live on Oahu. Hoping to go in a few weeks for a shore dive - nothing fancy. Hope to make master diver  one day before I'm too old.

Lived on Oahu and Kauai in the 80's. Used to run a pearl harbor cruise boat on Oahu and a Napali coast boat on kauai. Did a lot of diving on Kauai, loved it there. Enjoy paradise?

I was stationed at Wheeler Army Airfield from 1986 -1990.....if I wasn't flying or playing golf....I was diving.  Someone had to protect the central pacific from communist aggression....I'm sure glad they picked me to help.   We used to go to Kahoholawe (sp) for gunnery....the Huey's in our unit spent more time going to Maui to get our tanks refilled than anything else.  Not many things better in this world than diving.

I dont scuba dive. I will be taking the classes this summer. My uncle does however. And He travels the world to go scuba diving. His favorite place in the world (and hes been to like 86 countries) is Belize. He says it is just so beautiful.

When I was stationed in Hawaii, me and a friend took a "hop" to Wake Island, amazing diving...all the wrecks and planes.  Most anywhere in the remote Pacific will likely take your breath away.

Been certified about 15 years.  Been to Cozemel a couple of times, Bonair, Hawaii, the Caribean.  I did my open water in a cold muddly lake in Southern Missouri.  It's not really that high on my list of things to do, but I'm glad I have something to do when I find myself stuck at some hot sweaty beach with the wife.  I count it along with skiing and sailing as things I'm glad I can do but that I wouldn't do on my own.

SCUBA is my #1 favorite thing to do.  I've been in Lake Cumberland in Ky, Belize, Cozumel, and all around Play de Carmen and Cancun.  What I'd really like to do is spearfishing.  Combines 3 of my top 4 things to do. Hunting, fishing, and SCUBA.  If I could figure out a way to ahh....I'd probably never come back up! :o
This that I do, I do by my own free will.

Truck lagoon is a fantastic dive also,(we caught the jap fleet there snoozing) but it is halfway around the world.

Can you say jap anymore? ;D
