I have some discontinued 180 grain Winchester Powerpoint Plus and some 180 grain Partition Golds that are grouping around an inch.  You will love the 300 WM.  I hear Hornady SST's shoot well in the Prohunter.  I have both the Prohunter and the ICON in 300 WM, and the Prohunter handles the recoil much better than the ICON.  The Prohunter recoils like a light 30-06 bolt action.

I personally love the 200 grain Accubonds for elk in my Pro Hunter. So I will recommend 180 grain Accubonds for the deer

I helped a friend out years ago when going through a divorce and bought his winchester mod. 70 300 mag. He gave me 6 boxes of the old Winchester Super X shells. 3 boxes of 180 gr. SP they shoot 0.80" at 100 yds 3 boxes of 150 gr. SP they shoot 075" at 100 yds.

I know this don't help you since there has been many changes over the years I think. But was pretty pleased that my Pro Hunter shoots factory that well. I feel most factory ammo will shoot pretty good groups in the 300 mag. I shot a friends reloads with 180 gr. Hornaday and they shot 0.75" I have dies to reload but the Super X will probably last me a life time for as much as I shot it. Unless I ever get that Africa hunt I want then I'll work up a reload to due some killin. The once a year elk hunt I only burn 3 shots a year 1 or 2 to check scope and 1 to kill if I'm lucky.
