Saw a TCR 83 for sale
« on: June 28, 2008, 02:15:05 PM »
I picked up a TCR 83 at the first part of this year.  While driving back through and visiting my favorite pawn shop he actually picked up another one.  Think its around $500 with a .223  I'm not sure on the final cost because it was closing time and I bought the 22-250 and .243 barrel that were going with it, so he will be changing the price.  Its at All Pawn in McAlester Oklahoma.  I hope its ok to post this.  I know in the past when I asked questions about the TCR83 most people wished they still had one, so maybe someone here might be interested in this one I saw.

There is also a TCR-83 (double set triggers) in the "Gun Library" of Cabella's in Omaha. I think the price is around $600 and it has a .30-06 barrel and a cheapo scope. The scope is no big deal, but to have a scope it also has a scope mount which may be difficult to find now days.

Was at a state game lands rifle range in PA and was shooting my garand. Course I was way younger than and an older gentleman asked if he could take a few shots. Handed him a clip and have fun. Outshot me with my own rifle. Anyway as shooters are prone to do I saw his rifle and it was a tc 83? in 32-40. Double triggers and in beautiful shape. Shot his rifle and managed to get 5 of his cast bullet rounds in about 2". That was the only one I have seen since then. Trigger pull with the trigger set was like breaking a glass rod. I think they were a way underated rifle. Frank

RJacks77,

Do you still have the extra barrels in 7mm mag and .22 H?  I have a 83 TCR with .30-06, 7mm-08 and .223 Rem. barrels and I'm always on the look out for more tubes.  I also had a 87 Hunter model that I sold off.  Now of course, I wish that I still had it.  They both shot great and out class the Encores big time.  I have 2 Encores too, just Conternders on steriods. ( Yes, they shoot good too, just not as classy).

Walked through the Wannamacher show in Tulsa yesterday and saw probably 15 of the TCR 83's and 87's. One guy had four on one table. Talk about somebody getting excited! The barrels I saw were priced from $250 and up. Was able to trade into TCR 83 with a 26" medium barrel in 7mm 08. I traded one off in 1995 and have been sorry every since. Can't wait to get out and shoot!
