I have a walther ppks and between some malfunctions and now a recall (they have my gun for the last 2 months) I've had it. Has anyone had any experience with the CZ 83. Looks good but I'm interested in reliabilty, accuracy and does it bite the hand  like a PPK? How is CZ's service?

I've owned one (.380 cal) since 2000.  Great gun.  Decent to good trigger...long pull, but clean break.  It's a dang-gone tack drivin' gun!  I am always grinin' when I'm done at the range.
I think it's worth a look!  In fact, if you look around at a few of the Mil-Surp dealers, you can find CZ-82s (police versions/trades in 9mm Mak caliber) and they are the same gun if you can handle a much lower price and a few wear marks from holstering.  The 9mm Mak is also a bit more horsepower than a 380.

Oh, and DON'T get Gun-Scrubber (or like type cleaners) on the grips...don't ask me why....just don't.

CCW is fine with the gun.  It can be carried cocked-n-locked like a 1911...it has a very fine POSITIVE mechanical ambidextrous safety.  Cleaning is VERY easy...it's a blow-back design.

I own a PPKS in .380 and HATE to shoot it...it's not very nice to shoot and it's difficult for me to be accurate with it's cruddy trigger.

My gun CZ-83 has never had a hic-up.  Very reliable and does not beat me up like my PPKS.  I reload and use both round nose/ball bullets as well as flat point bullets...don't shoot many HPs through the gun, but have not had any trouble with the ones I've sent down the pipe.

thanks, I'm undecided between the 83 and Bersa. I heard about the bite of the PPKS but after shooting 50 rounds I actually was bleeding.

I have the cz82 in fact a couple of them wholsalers price right now is 159 they are c&r eligible so another 20 bucks and ups drops it off at your door if you dont have the c&r just add in your ffl costs still under 200 for a great pistol.
