Great thread. As has been pointed out, we can't really blame the capons in office, they grab power as naturally as a dog marks a tree. I place the blame on We the People. We failed in our civic duty to keep watch over those we entrusted to represent us.
But this isn't something new, capons grabbing power. Some nut job that went by the name of Tom Jefferson wrote:
