Whats is this worth

I have found a CVA youth hunter muzzloader for sale.What do you guys think it is worth.The gun looks to be in excellant condition.The guy says it has been shot very little.The gun has a wood stock ,adj sights ,synthetic ramrod and a single trigger.I am looking for one for my son to shoot in 4-h.Thanks for any input.

What it's worth is very speculative and based on where it is.   In many parts of the country used sidelocks are almost "free to a good home" while in other places they still command high prices.   IOW, where they are common used they are usually pretty cheap - where they are rarly seen used much higher priced.

Seems like the CVA Youth Hunter last sold retail for a little over $100 if that helps any.  With the run on close-out Bobcats for give-way prices at places like Wally World a couple of years ago I would think there are lots of those around used now too, and cheaper than dirt.   I remember some folks getting those for less than $30 new.   The Youth Hunter is probably a nicer rifle than a wood stocked Bobcat model.

If in good shape, and I especially mean the bore, I'd think 75 bucks would be fair. The "shot very little" means nothing because if it was fired just once and put away without proper cleaning the bore will be ruined. If it was shot just once with a bullet halfway down the barrel the bore will be ruined. Get a drop in bore light that will slip all the way to the bottom and have a very careful look at the bore. If it is pitted or buldged the rifle is not worth the cost to rebarrel even if you got it free.
