UPDATE Knight Vision Performance. A must see.
« on: March 06, 2009, 05:09:25 PM »
After getting a couple emails from people looking for a good shooting Muzzleloader at a reasonable price. I think i found the one. I bought this Knight Vision used a couple years ago. It wasnt used much and i liked the way it operated. The only down side was alot of blowback. Well Knights new breech plug fixed that problem.

A couple years ago i couldnt really get this gun to group real well. I never thought nothing of it, but it came with some cheap alunimun bases. Well i bought some steel warne bases and loc-tite the base screws and boy she shoots a variety of different bullets well now.

I started off with a 125grns of BH209 and the 250grn Lehigh all Brass bullet. Then did the same with the 250grn SST. I lost both pics and went to 140grns of BH209. Here's a pic with the 250grn SST at 100yds with a average velocity of 2315 fps. Not bad with a 250grn bullet and 140grns of BH209.

Next up was the 200grn bullets with a 135grns of BH209. Here is the Lehigh with a average velocity of 2322.

Here's the 200grn SW with 135grns of BH209.

For the money this ML is really hard to beat. The Sportsman guide has 150 all camo for sale at $179.00 bucks. Yes, i have one of those on the way.

Looks like a winner to me Tom. Can't beat the price either. What for a Leupold do you have mounted on her? By the way,I'm finishing up a call order and will get some other things finished this week. I'm thinkin' I need some good eggs and bacon. How does your weekend look next week?

Nice report Tom.  ;)

One of my hunting buddies saw the ad and was on the fence about buying it, so I forwarded this post and your other one re: Knight's new B/P for the Vision.  He better not wait too long, the word is out.

Are the pics of breach after shooting ?  If so..WOW!   What did you think of the trigger pull ?  I'm spoiled by Knight's triggers in their bolt guns.

Thanks... Rob

The trigger sucks on the Black SS model. The new camo one pulls at like 3lbs 7oz. Not bad at all. I think this ML is a no brainer to say the least. I posted pics of the new one above.

That all camo gun is sharp looking ! 8)

If this gun has the Green Mountain barrel... typical Knight quality composite stock... and now the no blowback, no red plastic jacket B/P.    I can overlook the not-so-great tigger pull.

Too bad for us in the PNW since for WA state the ignition must be "exposed to the elements).

It would be a shame to take a dremel to the rear of the barrel and cut a slot into it...

I just don't understand why Knight would make one of thier rifles w/o an adjustable trigger, all the other model have adjustable triggers. I guess maybe it has to be due to the brake open action. The Encore also has a non adjustable trigger, however I have taken my encores apart and put a trigger kit in them that broght the pull adjuted to 2 pounds  which may be too light for some. I have seen where Knight has made the statement to send your trigger to them and they will adjust it free of charge to what ever safe pull you ask for. I don't know if this offer was for the knight vision. Lou

Lou...  I'm almost positive that Knight's free trigger adjustment applies only to those triggers that are listed in their catalogs as "adjustable".  i.e.  their bolt guns.   Not sure, but I think their Revolution and RB7 triggers aren't adjustable either.

I have an early MK-85 from Knight that has a "Timney" marked trigger.  Knight's own labeled triggers in their bolt guns are just as good.

Although Grouse said above the tigger pull on his all-camo Vision is pretty good.
