March 05, 2009 Good Morning Montana
« on: March 04, 2009, 11:31:53 PM »
Well good morning eveyone, on this fine day.  You see mine started just a bit ago as my friend called pain said... WAKE UP...  ::)  So I figured I would hope on here and just see what is or has been posted.  Douglas is prolly going I'll give you pain, you want pain, I'll give you pain.  Douglas I hope you knee is really doing okay, I can't imagine having that done to myself BTW cause I was cussin myself saying what have I done after I had my shoulder surgery.

Well the coffee is hot... yep I'm drinking coffee at 3am because I don't plan on laying back down until I really get tired again or would that be called getting re-tired because I've already been tired  ;D

AtlLaw - how did your archery practice go, I really love shooting arrows and using my bow and find it very relaxing.

Good morning everyone, 22 degrees and dreary looking.  Weather report says it's suppose to snow today.  Coffee's going.  Keyboard is sticky this morning...wife was sitting here last night eating her birthday cake and she got frosting on the keys.

All this whining about the pain...being retired gives me entirely to much free time.  When I was working, I tended to just ignore the pain and work.   Actually the knee isn't realy giving me that much problem, it's the hip. My hip has always given some aches over the years.  And, I didn't do anything about back then.  I guess all the manipulation from surgery and the physical therapy has aggrevated hip.  I have to keep reminding myself that only 4 weeks ago I had total knee replacement surgery and here I am up and around walking without an aid doing most anything I could before with only some minor restrictions.

I need to look on the positive side...next time I go through airport security I am going to set the alarms off!!!

Jon, you are up slinging slivers, I'm up shooting cannons...just think where we would be 20 years ago.

You young guys when you get aches and pains take care of them now or you will end up a whining OF like me~

Oh my aching back , hip, knees  if only I had become a office worker instead of a manual labor ..... ;)
Wait a minute , I was an office worker , well sort of , Teaching school was a great job , Got 3 months paid vacation , only had to show up for 185 days to work , what was I thinking ? Full pention after 25 years .
Started farming on a shoe string with nothing and  40 years later I have most of it left plus the shoe string .  No pention , bad back , weak mind , poor hearing , but would not trade it for any thing else .

Well good morning all it's a lovely day blowing snow and a balmy 15 degrees , sun pokes out , snow blows , clouds over , sun peaks , lovely spring day . !!

Yesterday was so lovely , spent the morning out in the shop with doors open , got the new 12 KW gen set mounted on small trailer , hooked the Kubota to it and we now have stand buy power @ the turn of a switch . Ready for the Lions of March  . Plus have 7000 gallons of fuel on hand to run it .

Ag show in Lethbridge  Alberta ,Canada  got to go up and see all the new expensive machinery . Makes one glad they retired , let the next generation of farmers try to make a living and pay for the inputs and equipment .

Now to get my mortar built ... Need it for our annual 4th of July "Blow the farm up celebration ."
couple years a go my son in laws nephew  who works for the US goverment was here .His job is so classified that he can only say he works for the Goverment .... Any way he showed us how to make really big bang with sparkelers , Even Jack the wonder Airdale went looking for cover after the first one went off !

Was in Gt.Falls Tuesday , Picked up some more 17HMR ammo @ Scheels , Hornaday 17 GR V-MAX  on sale for $99.99 a box of 500 ,  $11.95 by the single box .
The other Hornaday 17 GR  is called Varmint Express , Both have the same muzzel velosity , a little different color box on the new stiff , Wonder if it is a design change on box or what ? Any one else seen or try'd out the new ?
Left Handed people are in their right mind .

Ernie,

I need to get the 6 PDR finished. That one will get your attention...hit the scrap yards in Lethbridge and see what they have.

Saw 41* on the bank on the way home, but the wind is going pretty good and feels a little nippy.  Sounds like rain or snow for a couple of days, Spring, waitin for you to sprung!  The way time is flying by, don't know why I'm in such a hurry for the seasons to pass, just cabin fever I guess.  DP

how did your archery practice go,

Haven't done it yet, but looking foward to it!  The thought is exciting!   ;D  I'll get a target this weekend.  Can't wait to play with that recurve again!

I really hate to hear about you guys being in pain.   :(  I can't do anything about it and that's a helpless feeling.  Kind of like when Kathie was diagnosed with breast cancer 8 or so years ago.  Wasn't a damn thing I could do... But, she got better and I know all y'all will also!   ;D

AtlLaw we understand, most of the time when we talk about it, its just venting.... kinda like yelling at the TV when a football game is on  ;D

What I do for targets when weather is good, I go to our local Ranch and Home store and they sell burlap bags for $1.99.  I get these and stuff them either with shipping plastic from local furniture store, or carpet backing from the carpet store as they are just throwing it out.  I then paint the heart lung area of a deer on them, and they make a pretty good stopper for arrows.

I also have several bales of carpet foam that work as large bale targets.  I take and wrap them with tarps, and you duct tape for making my spots on the bales.

Good luck  ;D
