Questions about the Sportster .22LR
« on: March 24, 2009, 02:48:41 PM »
I'm thinking about buying a Sportster in .22LR and I have some questions

1) What is the diameter of the barrel at the muzzle?

2) Do scope bases made for the Handi-Rifle fit the Sportster?

3) How far above the barrel is the tip of the hammer?

4) In your experience, how reliable is the extractor?

Sorry no body answered you, I will try.

1.  a bull barrel will be about .810 and a regular barrel will be about .650

2.  All Handi rifle scope bases are the same, they all will fit.

3.  About a half inch, depends on how far down the barrel you are talking about.  Half inch at the breach.

4.  They do not have extractors, they have ejectors.  I have never heard of a stuck case in a Handi RF.

Thank you. I had thought all the H&R single shots had moved to extractors, but I see now that the H&R website still advertises the Sportsters as having "automatic ejection."
