Can you get an extended mag tube for this shotgun has the standard wondering if they make an extension. what is the shortest barrel they make for the 870 that uses choke tubes mine has the longer 26" or 28" barrel wanting something shorter that still can use the choke tubes if they make one.

Yes you can put any 870 mag tube extension on it. You just have to sand or grind out the small nubs in the end of the tube mage in order to get shells to slide by them through the extension. I beleive remington does make 22 and 24" rem choke barrels (mostly for turkey hunters) you can put any 870 barrel on the gun I have a 18 riot barrel I use on mine every once in a while. BUT BUT BUT if you put a 3 inch chambered barrel on your super mag DON"T SHOOT 3.5 inch shells in it! sorry for the caps just something I cannot let go without making sure you get the point. Hope this helps

it helps truly have not seen a reason to shoot 3.5" shells though since am not necessarily ever going to hunt geese or ducks and will be fine hunting turkey with a 3" or less shell.

I wouldn't sand or grind the detents out of the mag tube this can create a hole in the tube, you can actually get the detents pounded out of the tube if you really want to put on extension tube that would be the route I'd take

sounds like alot of extra work for something i generally don't need the extra capacity on my hunting gun but was a thought. Found out i can get barrels for decent price to so will look into one of them for the future just hoping to fine one that takes choke tubes.
