New unfired tracker ss 44 mag question and suggestions
« on: March 22, 2009, 01:15:06 AM »
Just bought the tracker and have a question. The revolver seems pretty tight mechanically with trigger SA at about 4.5# with very little creep. What I mean by pretty tight is the cylinder has no front to back play but a very slight left to right play. Is this normal?
Will probably try some 44 special and 44 mag ammo.
Any suggestions on a leather holster, speed loader, grips and ammo would be appreciated.

That sounds pretty normal.  I had the 2" tracker before and it was a great little gun, but fell on some hard times and had to sell it off.  ::)  But, I may be looking for another one here real soon.  If you reload, keep your loads moderate and you should do good with it.

I don't handload, but plan on shooting some 44 specials to see how they do. Thinking about the Cor-Bon 165 hp at 1150 fps as a heavy 44 special load and maybe the CCI 200 hps to see how they do. Not sure what 44 mag loads yet.

Well get the load your comfortable with, seems that Cor-Bon load will do well in the Tracker.
