powder measure for 700x
« on: March 12, 2009, 12:51:07 PM »
Is there a powder measure that will throw small amounts of 700X?  I have a few pounds of 700X, and since I don't reload shotshells anymore, I have been using it to reload 38 spl and 45 acp.  I have a Harrell's that works great reloading rifles, but does not seem to throw correct amounts of 700X.  It may be because of the small amounts, 2.5 gr and 5.1gr or because it is a flake powder.  It takes a long time to measure with a scale.  Is there another measure that would throw the right amount?

The Lee "Auto Disk" and the "Pro Auto Disk" measures are very consistent with small volumes of flake powder. As a bonus, they are inexpensive. The Lee "Perfect" measure works better than my Uniflow for extruded powders, but haven't tried it with flake powders or in such small volumes. The RCBS "Little Dandy" works well too, but no better than the Lee models, and is a bit more costly.
