35 rem to 356
« on: April 23, 2009, 01:57:01 PM »
Got feed up with waiting for any place to get some 338 Marlin ammo, so ordered a new 35 Rem to see about getting rechambered to 356 Win.  That should work good enough to end the "need" for a new 338.  None of the stores have been able to get the ammo to go with the rifles, so the rifles aren't selling.  Gonna make it ruff for the 338 Marlin to make a go of it.  DP

SSK Industries www.sskindustries.com does them. They've done several for GBO members.

Is 356 ammo that easy to get?

I can get 356 ammo and cases here, also thought about 358 winchester cases.  Will have to open the face of the bolt anyway, so just make the choice.  DP

Might be wrong but I don't think you'll find anyone to chamber a Marlin to .358 Win. for you. SSK will not for sure.
