screw plugs
« on: March 14, 2009, 03:53:38 PM »
Seems like I ran out of screw plugs for the sight mounting holes on my Contender barrels. Can someone remind me what size these are, and where I might pick some up for a reasonable price? Thanks in advance guys.

Go to your gunsmith, or gun store or any where that scopes re installed.  They take them out and lots of times will give you a few if you are a customer and are pleasant.

I think I found them on Brownells. Looks like 6-48 x 1/8.

olywa, This is a very simple problem to fix.  Just go out and get a couple of new barrels and mount new scopes on them.....VOILA...you got screw plugs!!!

Walt - Is it wrong to invest in the sub-prime barrel market? Those screw plug derivatives might prove to be unstable in the long run...

olywa,  Being a true conservative, I fully believe that due to our capitalistic nature, the interest rate for this subject WILL remain quite high and stable through out this period.  I find this to be true especially if aforementioned barrels are chosen in the proper calibers.

You are correct, but don't go to Brownells when you have Tacoma Screw in your back yard.  I think there is a Tacoma Screw on Martin Way just a hop, skip, and jump from you.
