Accuracy of 45 LC in 454 SRH

Looking a ways down the road to my next purchase. I want a 454 SRH w. a 9" barrel, but, for economies sake would likely shoot a lot of 45 LC from it. I could then reload for it as well as a buddy's 45LC RH. His RH is a fine gun, I happen to prefer the look and feel of the SRH.

How's the accuracy of 45LC out of the 454 chambering? In theory, it ought to be as good as 454 loads. Is that the case?

I have the SRH with the 7.5" barrel.  It took a while for me to come up with accurate loads that I like, but I have had excellent luck with the 300 gr. D&J bullet in both 45 and 454.  If you are reloading, I would recommend sticking with 454s.  The brass is a little more expensive, but I have yet to wear any out after about 10 relaodings.  The only reason I ever load the 45s is so that my wife can take it to the indoor range.  They don't allow 454s there.  I went with her about a week ago and tried the loads I made.  I was pegging the bullseye consistently with the target at the back of the range (75 feet).  So my answer to your question is yes.  My 45 loads are maximum 45 Colt magnum loads as listed in the Hodgden manual.
