Hey its Friday  ;D

The weather is great, almost decided to wear my cargo shorts as its only 37 but hey it beats freezing..... Its gopher season, and that is a good thing.

Good Morning all , A fine morning it is , 32.5 and rising , light SE breeze ,clear skies to the East , A bit of dark to the West .
Gopher season is getting underway , Neighbor was over yesterday to sight in his new Savage 93 17 HMS. what a terrible trigger !! It must be at least 7 lbs of looooong pull. I did manage to get it on paper and put 2 bullets through the nearly same hole . @ 25 yards and as terrible of pull as the trigger has I was quite happy with the results.  He said he shot 2 gophers on the way home , missed one as the trigger pull pulled the rifle off target.   I polished up my rig and it's about 2 lbs and smooth . (same model Savage)
It's unusual to miss any shot under 100 yards with the 17's if they have a decent trigger and glass.

Grandaughters Birthday today (She is 22 or 23 ).... so it's Pizza night to night . Only problem it is a 50 mile one way drive to get good pizza ....

4:30 and it's right at 70* here in Billings.  Have to work tomarrow, but am gonna leave to burn some powder at the range for a couple of hours.  Have a Trainee for the Sat. shift to help me out so I'm not working so many Saturdays.  Everyone have a great Weekend!  Better get back to work now.  DP

Enjoyed having you over this afternoon and it seems the wives get along so that's good.

Went shopping today.  Stopped by the scrap metal place and gave him a 3 pound coffee can of .22 brass.  He gave me 50 pounds of scrap lead pipes and some angle iron.  I felt happy. 

Bought a 1 3/4 to 3/4 pipe reducer.  Also needed a 3 inch piece of one inch black pipe.  Was talking to the guy at American pipe supplies about what I was doing with this stuff---building a furnace to melt some zinc to make cannon balls--as he was saying he would have to charge me for the 3 inch long  piece of pipe.  He thought the cannon thing was neat and even neater when I told him about the cannon shoot we are going to hold this summer. He then told me to bring our cannon shoot fliers in and he will put it up. Then he charged me for the reducer and gave me an 18 inch piece of one inch pipe he said he got out of the scrap bucket.

Went to the cabinet makers shop to get one of my oak planks planed, the door was locked.  Went to the hardware store and asked if they knew of any one who could plane the plank for me and they sent me up to the lumber yard to see the owner.  We went there and the owner said his planer blades were shot and he hadn't had enough work to justify fixing it, but pointed me to a Hutterite kid and said he could do it.  Talked to the kid and showed him the board.  He said he would have to take the board back to the colony and bring it back in a couple of days.  I asked him how much and he said he would have to ask the boss.

We carried the board over to his van and as we were loading it he said would $10 be to much?  I said no.  He looked around to see who was watching and said can you pay it now?  I smiled and I handed him a 10 and it disappeared right now. 

If he asked the boss, the boss would have said $10 and taken the money.  But this way the $10 goes straight in the kids pocket.

When we got home I hung a light fixture for the wife.   When I sat down for a breakSouth

Good thing I didn't have physical threapy today, I would have never got anything done.
