Which Bi-Pod for my Encore?

Guys I have never used a bi-pod, but think I might be interested. Any information would make me happy. Thanks.Gene

Hi Rev, I have a 9"-13" Shooters Ridge bipod mounted on my contender. Mounts easily to a sling stud.

IMO they are just as good as Harris bipods for a lot less money. Seen the 9"-13" model at Wally World yesterday
for $39.95. That is the model that I use.

For shooting off a bench I prefer the "BR-S" Harris bipods (6"-9" swivel).    All of mine are fitted with quick release and swivel lever lock upgrades that makes them more versatile and very fast to switch between firearms.   For anything else I use my Vern Howey bipods or folding sticks.

I owned a Harris 9-13", nice bipod, but to small when it comes to shooting ground hogs once the grass gets over 6" high.

I now have a 13-27" Shooters Ridge swivel bipod. The swivel is nice, but I usually lock the swivel down so there is minimal movement.

If you have an Encore rifle with the standard forend you might want to upgrade to the Prohunter forend, the bipod locks down alot nicer and the wider forend is easier to grip.

Off of the bench I like my Harris 9-13" but for hunting I really like the versatility of my Cabelas Deluxe bipod. It does not attach to the gun but has enough adjustment for sitting to standing shots. I added a velcro strap so i can attach to gun if i want to. It fits nicely into one of the water bottle pockets in my pack. Just my .02
