New outboard motor
« on: July 29, 2003, 02:06:21 AM »
I just ordered a new Briggs & Stratton 5HP FourStroke Outboard motor w/Forward & Reverse too it was on sale for $699 w/free shipping too such a deal.  I wanted a smaller motor for small lakes where you can rent a row boat and use your own motor.  Plus I may add it on the 17' fisher boat we have too for trolling with. I haven't heard anything yet about it and i have been thinking of making one for years out of a lawnmower engine and finally they did it.   Does anyone know or heard anything about this motor?         BigBill

My son just picked up a 17' fisher boat w/18 hp evinrude w/trailer($500) to take me fishing which I just got the motor tuned running great.  So everything I learned bass fishing from shore will soon be used on the water from a boat and if it works out and we do good fishing a newer bass boat will be in our future soon.

You will wish  you had a boat years ago.  You can get into some good bass fishing where you could not have fished on the bank.    You will definitely enjoy the boat.

I got a 17' jon boat with a johnson 9.9 hp.

Next, you'll need a trolling motor, some batteries, and a LCR.

Remember to wear your life jacket.

There's Fishing and then there's Bass Fishing
Its kinda like the difference between Sandlot Baseball and Playing on the Team.
The difference is Practice

Skipper your right again I found a trolling motor at a local flea market for $30 an old one but she'll work for now in this boat anyway.   BigBill

We have two hummingbird fishfinders and GPS not a bad start.

Hawghead your right too we even been talking about a new boat for next spring already.
