Prvi Partisan Ammo
« on: October 12, 2008, 11:23:11 AM »
Anyone on the forum have any experience with shooting Prvi Partisan ammo.
The prices look good, but I was wondering about accuracy of the Serbian ammo, compared to , say Federal or Winchester bargained priced ammo.

I get 2" groups in my CZ 550 in 6.5 Swede at 100 yds. My hunting partner gets 1 1/2" in his Browning auto in 270. The brass is excellent for reloading and I get 3/4" groups with Nosler Accubonds in the 6.5 with the Privi brass. I bought 200 rounds mostly for the brass but the factory loads have been getting the job done on hogs.

Thanks for the info Wynn.......My brother in Arkansas will be glad to hear about the Hog accuracy lol!
He likes to hunt the porkers. and likes the Federal Power Shock in his 7mm08, but has a hard time finding them locally, so will order online for them. I ran across the Prvi Partisan looking, and liked the price.

I might order a box or two for him to try.     Brad

Shoot Prvi 55 gr. FMJ  in .223 and get 1" goups in my AR15.  Tried a box of 22/250 55 gr. SP's and get 1" groups with it (3 shots).  Have shot only a few of the 22/250's but it shows some real protential.

I bought 3 boxes of .30-30 Winchester and 2 boxes of .303 British.  Haven't shot the .303 Brit stuff, but the .30-30 stuff has proved to be as accurate as Winchester factory loads.  I gave a 1 box of the .30-30 to my brother for this hunting season and he's gotten 2 deer with them so far this year.

I won a hunter fun shoot with my son's 308 using Prvi's 165 boattails.  It functioned and grouped well!

The only Privi Partisen ammo I have tried is the 8x57Js 196 grain ammo and though my P-H 1200 Super it groups around 1". In fact it was this ammo that the gun smith used in testing when he had the rifle correct the bedding.

We get a lot of it here in Oz and it seems ok overall.
I use the brass to load for my 8x57 and mates reckon the 303 brass is great.
The only stuff which was dodgy was some 9.3x62 brass.
The rims were too big to fit into the shell holder and I sent lot back to the gunshop and got a refund.
Apparently it was a bad lot.

I had never shot any of this ammo until I started collecting and occasionally hunting with some old Military Surplus rifles for fun. Prvi Partisan offers a lot of soft point ammo in classic military calibers like 8mm Mauser and 7.62x54R. Many of my Mosin Nagant rifles love the stuff and it also shoots the best out of my K98 German Mauser. My M-39 Finnish Mosin Nagant is amazingly accurate with it. They are also the makers of the Wolf Gold line of ammo as well but do not make the cheaper Wolf ammo. I can find nothing wrong with it. It is good quality ammo despite the cheap price.

Here's the M-39

And here is what it will do at 100 yards with open sights and Prvi Partisan 180 grain soft points.

the round nosed privipartizan 286 gr bullet is said to be the best choice for the 9,3x57.I picked up the 9,3x57 knowing ammunition would be hard to get[not impossable-Norma loads it]-and began reloading and after researching it-the 286 gr Privipartizan is said to be the ideal bullet-only 2000 fps-but anything-moose, bear or hog hit by that is unlikely to go far

NW,

Prvi ammo. is all I use in my CZ 550 FS rifle in 9.3 x62MM.  It is much cheaper than Norma and it performs well at the range and in the field.  1" groups or less on paper every time at 100 yds.  The 285 gr. loads have worked well on all the game I've shot here in Texas including deer, sheep, and Oryx.  You can't go wrong.

I use Privi .303 Brit and 7.62x54 and it works very well. The cases are great for reloading.

I have never heard of it on the east coast. But then again I buy shells and reload everthing. So I really don't look for it.

Glad to hear good things about it.
I've found some good deals lately and have been stocking up, but still have yet to shoot any of it.

Took a 375+ black bear in Manitoba with it. 9.3x62, 286 grn soft point.  Bang flop shoulder shot, pass thru.  Grouped 11/2" at 100yds with a 4 power scope.  Excellant inexpensive load.

I bought a box as soon as I got my CZ 550 Fs in 9.3x62mm...  Couldn't wait for my dies to show up to reload.  Seemed to be pretty darn good stuff.  Appeared to be accurate, but not positive...didn't have the scope on yet and was not trying for groups or anything like that.
