Mt. Howt. Help
« on: October 26, 2005, 06:20:06 PM »
Hello
I have collected the metal for a full size mountain howitzer I have most of the dimensions except for the outside diameters. I have the base ring 7.6" OD. and the chase ring or maybe its called the lip because there is no swell of the muzzle[though the ordnance sheet calls it that] I don't think a neck is a ring, and it is at the end of the muzzle like a lip. Any way it's dim. is 6.9" OD.
what I don't have is the OD. of the recess around the breech, the OD. of the barrel just forward of the recess, and last; the OD. of the barrel just behind the swell of the muzzle[ring, lip].
CAN ANY ONE HELP?

If you can read .dwg files, I can email you a drawing.  Or I can snail mail a paper print.  But you should get the Antique Ordnance Publishers folio on the mountain howitzer.  Lots more information than just a tube drawing.
