NRA vs GOA
« on: March 29, 2009, 06:15:00 AM »
Can anybody tell me which organization does more to secure our rights, or how to find out what they're currently working on?

I am a member of both and the big difference that I see is that GOA had defended the machine gun owners better in the past, when the NRA wanted to compromise with the anti-gunners, and that the GOA sends out postcards for us to sign and stamp to send to people of political positioning to remind them of how we feel.

The NRA magazines are nice, the GOA sends out a multi-page newsletter that talks of the the political nature of what is happening.  I usually send more money to the NRA as they are the most known in Washington.

If you could be a member of only one organization which would it be?

Hell at this point, Support Both, You have nothing to loose but your right to bear arms if you dont!

I agree with Oldshooter.  These days it is wise to support both.

Blessings!

NRA without a doubt, when the GOP attacked the NRA last year I lost all respect for them. The NRA is the ONLY pro-gun organization that has true clout in the political arena.

You want to support both go ahead, but my money goes to the NRA.

I agree with supporting both if you can, I cannot, and besides I do not know much about GOA (I first thought this was about GOAL). My money goes to the NRA. Perhaps because it has for years, but thats where it goes....<><....:)

I agree it can't hurt to be a member of both. But, the only references I ever see or hear about gun rights by a politican or the news media is to the NRA. I never see or hear GOA mentioned by either. That tells me who they pay attention to and who they don't.

NRA and your state and local associations.
