Took the Hawkeye out today.
WOW Cavscout822 shot a nice cloverleaf with factory Federal fodder.Got a Burris 4x16 fullfield II on it.
Can't wait to see what it will do with the right reload.
Also used the 2Sigs, 2HDs,HK,Rock Island,Smith airweight,AR and AK.
Last fun time before cavscout and cavscout882 deploy about Thursday.

Preacherman,

First, give our best to cavscout and cavscout882. Tell them to stay low and stay safe. Please thank them for their service and assure them that there are still some of us here in America that believe in what they are doing and that we greatly appreciate it.

Now for the question. ;) I understand that Hawkeye Tactical comes with the Hogue Overmold Stock. I'm wondering if the stock is the pillar bedded only version or is it the version that has the full length bedding block (the aluminum block the runs the full length of the forearm)? It sounds like a heck of a nice rifle.

I think it is action only barrel is free floated.I will look when I get back home.Only thing that I can see that Ruger should do is put a set of extra high rings with it.a 50mm scope hits the barrel.raised the scope with layers of black tape until we get some from Ruger. He paid a little less than $900.00
the trigger is great crisp and light will have to get used to the first stage.I plan on having it tuned up when he returns.

I'm also thinking it's the pillar bedded version but was hoping for the full length bedding block. Bravo on the trigger. Ruger seems to be coming up in the world in the trigger department. The rifle seems a little expensive at first, but it also sounds like a lot of gun for the money. Looking forward to some more reports or updates. Thanks for the info Preacherman.

P.S. I noticed you are using cavscout822's account, but signed the post as Preacherman, and in one of the above posts there is also mentioned a cavscout. I'm confused. ;) Is cavscout and cavscout822 the same person? Or maybe brothers? Just curious as to how all these names work out. :)

Cavscout and cavscout822 are brothers I was using 822s laptop at the motel where we were staying.Said goodbye to them today and came home. Both will deploy between tomorrow and Monday. The wife and I figgered it best to come home.It went well still hard to do.We have put them in the LORDS care and trusting that he will keep them safe.tearing up better go.
Will give updates on the rifle when I can get it out and mess with it.
Also contacted Ruger about a set of super high rings they are sending a set free of charge, just have to send the others back they are paying the shipping. Can't beat that.
