better iron sights

I just bought a new camo Ruger 10/22.. I don't like scopes but I want easier to use sights than the ones that came on it.  I would prefer to use peep or ghost ring on rear and fire sight on front.  Anyone have any advice on sights to use or where to go?

Williams used to make a rear peep that screwed into the rear 2 scope mount holes.  The only problem I've found is that the comb is a little high (or I have a fat face) to use with the sights.  It is better suited to a scope.  Have you thought about a red dot scope?

I can use a scope and have shot them in competition when in the army.  I was raised using peep sights  and have always had an easier time with them.  Quicker on target, and for me just as accurate at the distance from target I am willing to pull the trigger.

I like them a lot better.  You do need the taller front bead that comes with this set up, the stock one is too short.  Might be a chore drifting the one you have out, and you'll have to do a little file work for the new one.

Almost forgot...the above Williams peep also comes with a firesight as well instead of the gold bead.
