I was somewhat chagrined to find out I can't even bring a scope across the US-Canada border-the US seller has to have an export permit-this isn't a Canadian issue-but US Homeland Security. My wife is an American Citizen and we travel south frequently-I always picked up a brick of 22 shells, and sometimes a scope[all our rifles and shotguns have to be registered so I don't even bother asking]But recent ammendments to US Homeland Security shut the door on even taking something as innocuous as a regular rifle scope ammunition across the border. If I tried and was caught-my name would go on the computor and I would be denied entry in the US possably for ever.....somehow I think they are targetting the wrong people
