.38 Special Deer Hunting this Weekend.
« on: November 27, 2009, 10:06:30 AM »
Well, I said I would give my Buffalo Bore Keith SWC HP's a try on a Texas whitetail so I'll be giving them a shot this weekend. These are the standard pressure dead soft lead versions with a velocity advertised at 970 fps from a 4" revolver. I've use the commercial version (old FBI load) before and it did about as well as a .357 Mag would do through both lungs. My gun will be a 4" S&W Model 10-7 (tapered barrel). I'll give an update when I get back from the ranch. Good Hunting to All!!!

10-5 with 170 grain lead hollow point over max charge 4227, a bit more than 20 yards, off bags.  See, Model tens aren't obsolete.....er...are they?   Hope your lady friend gets feeling better.  Good luck on the hunt.  Keep us posted.
Vote them all out, EVERY election!

Does anyone remember the scene from "Quigley Down Under" showing the aborigines lined up on the skyline as far as you could see?   That needs to be US!

I love my Model 10's:

This one is a little older, an M&P (circa 1948):

These are great guns and definitely deadly.  This was done  with the Model 10-5:

Just another voice in the crowd!!!

Lawful Larry, good looking iron you have there. Your M&P from 1948 looks just like one from my safe? Have exactly the same gun.
