The Glock 20 is a chunky pistol, but I shoot mine real well.  I don't have big hands, maybe medium/large or something like that.  I used to have a Kimber 10mm (1911), but it's about twice as expensive as a Glock.  Don't know much about the EAA Witness, but you can't beat a Glock.  Are you dead set on having to have a 10mm?

I would try to find a Witness to see how it feels.

the witness. it is far smaller in the grip area than the glock. a great gun also. a little load sensitive. you might have to change recoil springs. i believe glock offers a compact or subcompact in 10 also. the witness compact steel is really nice as well.

The Witness grip is not small, but it is so ergonomically designed that it fits small hands pretty well. The smallest grip I know of on a 10mm would be a 1911 platform from Colt/Dan Wesson/Kimber, to name a few.

The 10mm is a long round and there just really isn't any way to make a grip for one in a semiauto for a small hand. If you just absolutely gotta have a 10mm there were some S&W revolvers made in it I believe. You can get a grip for them that will fit even fairly small hands. But as far as semis go they really are not for small hands. I wear a size large glove and the grips for most 10mm and .45 acps are a bit unweildy for me.

Do you think you could live with a .40 S&W? If so then there are lots of choices that should fit your hand.

My hand is about medium size.  The all stainless steel S&W 1006 full size fits my hand better than any, the Glock is way big for me.

I have small hands, wear a size 7.5 ring, and my friends Colt Delta Elite feels pretty good to me.  Of course, if you can find one for sale, there is the price issue.  I handled a Glock 20 at a local shop, kind of hoping for a cheaper route to a 10mm, and it had about the same feel as a 2X4 in my hand.

You can get slim grips for the Delta Elite. Forget finding any aftermarket grips for the

well i hit about 20 shops today. there was 1 10mm, a glock 20. like brianu said "2x4".
i fondled a lot of 1911's in 45 acp tho.
i figured that since the oal is the same for both rounds are the same i could get a general "feel" of it.

1 shop had a real sweet Dan Wesson 1911 that fit perfect, but it was .45, and $1450.
several kimbers were close to fitting, and i noticed that they had fairly thick grips.

im now thinking of building my own 1911 in 10mm.

how hard would it be? skill level 1-10. specialty tools 1-10?

ive already got a xd40sc. its a great gun/round, but i want a 10mm.

The glock 20 just became availaible in SF version.  This is a short frame.  I held one there is a noticeable difference between my 20 and the 20SF.  Try one of those before you decide.

For a 10mm as well as a 9x23, it is not just the skill level, which can be a 10 in both tools and skill, it is also the knowledge level.
These are two calibers that require some very specific knowledge.

For small hands there is no other choice; a 1911 with a short trigger installed and thin grips!  44 Man.
