.357 & .17hmr?
« on: January 29, 2010, 06:12:43 AM »
Hey guys, I'm one of those weird suppressor guys, and I would like a handi with a .17hmr and .357 barrel. How would one go about this? Can you get a center fire and rimfire on the same frame? If so which caliber should I buy first? I like laminate stocks, but not real a deal breaker. I also like the Monte stock or the pistol grip I've  only seen on the .22lr. Maybe a youth model. I'm gonna have the barrels cut to 16in and threaded, so a short light stock would be a good fit.

I already have a rossi 92 threaded up, so the I would like to buy the .17 first, But am not sure on how the frame/ barrel compatibility works.
    Thanks, Fisty
Here is some really bad picts of the 92,just for the hell of it!

It is 2 different guns. .357's are available now, might not be in a month. A .357 "can" will be much easier to find than a .17.

Welcome! Not likely to happen inexpensively, H&R made a few 17hmr Versa Packs and 3 barrel combos, but they're rare, the rimfire frame won't work with centerfire barrels and vice versa, so a custom stubbed(see FAQs) offset 17hmr barrel for a centerfire frame is your only other option, that'll cost ~$300 just for the stubbed barrel plus parts, and SB1 357mag would be the least expensive platform to use it on.
