I don't think they come from green (snap) beans though...
but what do I know...
Well, I do know that whatever dried beans you fix you got to have a good stock. I do a Ham & Lima Bean soup and black eyed peas as part of my traditional New Years Day dinner and pinto beans whenever I get a craveing. Start with a ham bone and fixins for the limas since that's a soup; start with hog jowls for the blackeyed peas for the meat and good pot licker, and use whatever you want for the pinto's 'cause they so tasty anyway!
Darn, I'm makin myself hungry!
